Why am I so passionately driven to focus on consistent, ongoing effort in pursuit of a goal? I know it works. How? Because it worked for me at a crucial, formative juncture early in my life.
In my view, you made a few very good decisions that led to your success.
1) Not giving up after having such difficulties in the beginning
2) Instead of just "practice" you went to the best teachers you could find and learned from them.
Number 2 led to everything else. Few people would have had the guts to try learning from the best. And I bet that one habit is responsible for much of your success.
Hey Michael, I love what you said about delivering the most for your clients and going that extra mile. That extra mile can be the difference between just a mile and 1,000 miles. Just being an awesome person goes a long way in life. Thank you so much for sharing this.💪💪
For the past two years, I’ve read extensively about business, digital marketing, and writing. I’ve taken both free and paid courses, trying to figure it all out on my own. But while I gained a lot of knowledge, I lacked a clear path forward. Coach moves the needle and will save you time and mistakes
Hi Renee, thanks for your positive comments. Which quote did you think was incredible? By the way, I’m following and subscribed to you. If I could ever help, please let me know.
A winner never quits, and quitters never WINS ! I was referring to that one. The article is inspirational ! I agree, being humble and success isn't exclusive, it's a WHOLE MOOD for sure! Giving up isn't an option in my juncture at ALL!
Usually, I'm very wary of business coaches in general. They're the kind of title that a lot of people overuse, many of them just repeat the same old advice. But here, I realize you have real-life experience.
Also, I think people in sports are some of the most qualified to give business advice. They're in direct contact with physical pain, effort, perseverance, teamwork, and positive thinking. Clearly, you have a lot of valuable lessons to share with people.
I just finished reading Shoe Dog by Phil Knight, and it really opened my eyes to the connection between highly competitive people, the athlete’s mindset, and how that mindset applies to business.
Phil Knight was always trying to meet the high expectations of his coach, Bill Bowerman. It was a constant challenge and pushed him to give his best. I see you’re coaching a lot of young people, and I’m sure you also drive them and push them to the best of their abilities not only in sports but also in business.

Not the last “Michael” to have been underestimated by their high school coach to go on to greatness…just the first. “Be like Mike”… be a champion!
Hi Jerry, Thanks for your positive comments.
Great post Michael. Never give up 👍
Thanks Sue.
This is true: invest in a mentor or a coach
